Build Muscle And Burn Fat - Become Physically Fit At Any Age! by Ron Stephens
The first time in my adult life that I really got serious about getting into shape, I was in my mid twenties. I had spent about six months or so jogging and dieting (my definition of dieting was pretty simple: you can't eat very much of anything that tastes good), and I lost about twenty pounds. It was good to have lost the weight but I still didn't feel good about the way I looked. I did not have much muscle mass at all so when I went from a hundred seventy pounds to a hundred forty five pounds I just looked like a smaller version of the pear shaped flabby guy that I was. That isn't what I wanted either. It was good to have lost the weight, but I wanted to look, you know, a little more "buff". That presented another challenge. Now I would have to lift weights and I had never done that before. The thought of buying all of the weights and putting myself through hours every day of "pumping iron" did not sound like fun to me at all. And besides that I didn't believe that I could change the shape of my body anyway. I didn't know how simple it could be to build muscle and burn fat. So for the next twenty years I just gave in to my belief system and decided to be happy with the way I looked and get on with more important things in life.
The problem was however, I never really accepted myself physically. I always wished that I could have a leaner, more proportionate shape to my body. I just honestly did not think it was possible. And you know, when you don't really like something about yourself, it shows up in subtle little ways. I didn't like being in public with my shirt off. I felt like I had been cheated physically and there was nothing I could do about it. I didn't look good (I thought) in certain clothes that were in fashion. My confidence over all was affected. Now, it wasn't like my life was falling apart or anything. I just wanted to look better in a bathing suit. I wanted to have a more "masculine" shape to my body. I wanted to be more disciplined in my eating.
One evening I was having dinner with some friends at a local restaurant. There were about eight of us sitting around the table eating and chatting. The conversation turned to discussion of a book that one of them was reading about getting physically fit and transforming your body in three months. Most everyone at the table it seemed, knew of this program but me. I asked some questions and listened to them talk about the many testimonials, before and after pictures they had seen and so on. It sounded too good to be true. Twelve weeks to transform your body?! Could that be for real?
Although I did not say much during that discussion, I listened intently. At some point during the evening I felt myself changing on the inside. I began to believe I could look the way I had always wanted to look. I decided, as we were wrapping up the evening, that I would find this book they spoke of and it would be the source of my new found hope to do something about the way I looked. Again I want to say that I was not extremely over weight. I am five feet, eight inches tall. At that time I weighed about a hundred eighty pounds. But my body fat percentage I found out when I went to the gym for the first time, was around twenty percent. The ideal percentage of body fat for a guy my age was around eight to twelve percent.
Well I went out the next day and found the book. I took it home and read it. I saw before and after pictures of men and women, many older than me, who had gone through incredible, physical transformations. And they all did it in a ninety day period! Unbelievable! Except, now it was believable for me. To make a long story a little shorter, I implemented the program, which involved eating differently and exercising and got tremendous results in ninety days. I went from a hundred eighty plus pounds and twenty percent body fat to a hundred sixty eight pounds and nine percent body fat! I was fired up! Here is the interesting part of the whole story. Ever since I was in high school, I didn't think I could look much different. For over thirty years I just accepted the false belief that I couldn't build muscle and burn fat and change the shape of my body. But once my beliefs changed, I got what I wanted in twelve weeks. Here is what I found out that made the difference for me:
What you believe is so important. I believed I couldn't do anything about the way my body looked unless I was willing to spend hours of pain and sweating in the gym for months and months. Once my belief changed, my motivation sky-rocketed. Here is how I changed my belief. And it was almost effortless! I read stories about other people in my situation. Many of them in worst shape than me. When I saw that others could do it, I began to have "hope". Hope is a powerful force my friend. But it must be based on truth. Once I saw the truth, by reading the stories of others and seeing before and after photos, hope rose up in me and I began to "see" myself with the body I wanted. I'm telling you it works. If you want anything, find out about others who have achieved it, read their stories or seek them out and talk to them. It will change your life.
It didn't take as much effort as I had previously thought. I only spent three days a week in the gym for a little less than an hour each day I was there. That was for weight training. I spent three alternating days each week at home on an exercise bike for only twenty minutes each session. Amazing! And of course I did have to change my eating habits, but I did not have to deprive myself. I just had to eat more sensibly. And let me tell you this: if you have struggled with eating right for a long time, the problem is probably not as much of an eating problem as you think. The problem is a "hope" problem. Once I had the hope, it was much easier to discipline myself to eat right. Once I had hope, it was much easier to go to the gym. It became a powerful force for change in my life and it will work for you too!
I had a partner. My wife did the program with me. She became as excited about as I did and that made it easier for me to stick to it. We did it together. If you aren't married, or if you are and your spouse doesn't share your enthusiasm that's ok. Find a partner at work, or get to know someone at the gym or hire a trainer at the gym. The power of having someone to work with you for change, is extremely helpful. You can encourage one another and keep each other accountable. If you don't have that person, that's ok too. You just have to rely on yourself a little more and be true to your vision. You can do it! My friend I want you to know this: if you have any desires in your life to change anything at all for the better, you can do it. I believe that! Whatever your situation is, someone else somewhere in this world has been in a worse situation and changed it for the better. If they can do it...you can do it. You must believe that. If you wish to change the way you look, lose weight and/or build muscle and change the shape of your body, you can. I'm not going to tell you that you have to use the same program or read the same books I read because you don't have to. There are plenty of programs and books and testimonials for you to read and follow. What I am going to tell you is that you need to find something that you can believe in. Something that sparks a flame of hope in your heart and mind. Draw strength and encouragement from other people's stories, get started on a program, stick to it, and watch your life change.

How To Build Muscle And How Much Can You Actually Expect To Build This Month by Angel Fines
How much muscle can you actually expect to build this month and this year?
Do you know? Do you know what a realistic goal actually is?
I want to talk about a subject that needs to be cleared up once and for all.
How much muscle can *YOU* REALLY build?
Most gym rats expect to build LOTS of muscle really fast.
This is a myth. You can NOT build muscle really FAST. The majority of readers, customers and clients I work with have completely unrealistic expectations when it comes to building muscle.
I can't put an exact number on how much you can gain but most people believe that they can build 20 pounds of muscle in three months...
...it's amazing how many frustrated customers I get emailing me after their first month of training complaining that they only gained 5 or 10 pounds. I'm thinking to myself, "That's fantastic, what are you complaining about?!"
There is no doubt you can gain 20 pounds of WEIGHT in 3 months or even one month, but we are not talking about *weight* - we are talking about *DRY MUSCLE*
Pure muscle tissue. Not water weight. Not glycogen weight.
Pure muscle weight!
There is not a chance in heaven that you will gain 5 or even 10 pounds of dry muscle in one month or even 3 months - not even close. I hate to be the messenger of this bad news but unless you are using growth enhancing drugs...
... it's IMPOSSIBLE.
Many of you might be upset or discouraged about the TRUTH of how much you can actually build but this knowledge will help you to eat and train with a more realistic perspective.
So how much muscle can your body actually manufacture?
Under the BEST possible circumstances (training, diet, supplementation, recovery) the average male body can create between *0.25 and 0.50* pounds of dry muscle tissue per week.
That's the natural amount that your body chemistry will allow.
So your looking at 1-2 pounds of dry muscle each month.
Not much?
Well consider what your body will look like in 12 months from now with an extra 12-24 pounds of muscle?!?!
Starting to see the importance of consistency???!!!
You see, I did not gain 41 pounds of DRY MUSCLE in six months.
The 41 pounds also factored in the increased muscle which was accompanied by increased glycogen and water storage in the muscles. More muscle equals more glycogen.
Most people can maintain up to 40 grams of glycogen per 100g of muscle tissue.
So if you're gaining ten pounds of new muscle you'll consequently increase glycogen storage by around four pounds.
So if you gain ten pounds of muscle, your scale gain will actually be closer to fourteen pounds (if you didn't gain any fat).
And rarely often will someone not gain any fat if you are gaining more than 3 pounds per month.
So, when you set your goals, clarify in your mind if "20 pounds of muscle" is your *weight gain* goal or your *dry muscle* goal.
And then put realistic time frames on these goals based on the info I just shared.
If you simply focus on keeping your body fat between 10-13% fat while gaining around 5 pounds per month then it is safe to say you are gaining 1-2 pounds of dry muscle a month with 1-2 pounds of glycogen and water hopefully no more then a pound of fat.
Train hard and expect to make these gains each month!

3 Tips to Burn Fat by Craig Ballantyne
Losing weight is one of the hardest things in the world. But follow these 3 secrets, and you'll finally make progress.
So here are three of the most important things you need to be doing to get your fat burning workout program started properly.
1) Use www.fitday.com to figure out your food intake.
You can't just "wing it". You can't "eyeball" your food intake, as research shows that even nutritionists underestimate how much food they are eating.

Use it and lose it!
2) Use the right recovery pace in your interval training
The biggest mistake people make in interval training is working too hard during the recovery period.
If you continue to work at a hard pace when you should be almost resting, you wont get the true benefits of interval training.
So lose the cardio mentality and be sure to alternate between periods of harder than normal exercise, and very easy exercise.
If you don't know about interval training, here is how it goes.
Start with your normal warmup. Let's say walking at 3.0mph on the treadmill. Do this for five minutes, and then increase the speed to 3.8mph (a fast walk). Do this for 30-60 seconds (as long as you are comfortable doing it - don't do it if you feel that is too fast for you).
Drop the intensity way back to three miles per hour.0mph for 60-90 seconds. That is one interval. Go back and forth between working hard and going easy for 3-6 rounds. Then finish with a 5-minute cool-down.
Use the recovery period to recover!
3) Plan your food intake on the weekend
Set aside time to plan, shop, and prepare several days worth of meals. Use a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to cook some chicken breasts, prepare some raw vegetables, wash your fruit, and pack up your nuts.
A little bit of knowledge can go a long way.

The biggest mistake people make in interval training is working too hard during the recovery period.

If you don't know about interval training, here is how it goes.
Start with your normal warmup. Let's say walking at 3.0mph on the treadmill. Do this for five minutes, and then increase the speed to 3.8mph (a fast walk). Do this for 30-60 seconds (as long as you are comfortable doing it - don't do it if you feel that is too fast for you).
Drop the intensity way back to three miles per hour.0mph for 60-90 seconds. That is one interval. Go back and forth between working hard and going easy for 3-6 rounds. Then finish with a 5-minute cool-down.
Use the recovery period to recover!
3) Plan your food intake on the weekend
Set aside time to plan, shop, and prepare several days worth of meals. Use a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to cook some chicken breasts, prepare some raw vegetables, wash your fruit, and pack up your nuts.
A little bit of knowledge can go a long way.

Is Chewing Gum A Smart Dieting Trick by Naweko San-Joyz
The British Medical Journal (BMJ) probably lent an inadvertent boost to chewing gum sales this month. The journal reported that chewing gum containing the artificial sweetener sorbitol could lead to severe weight loss. To most desperate to diet ears, that sounds like good news. However, this extreme weight loss was the result of intense gum chewing that provoked several negative side effects.
The BMJ report actually only involved two women, not exactly the material you would want to base widespread medical recommendations on. Both women experienced unexplained severe weight loss and diarrhea. Ultimately, researchers pinned the source of the copious bowel movements and weight loss as 20 grams of sorbitol the ladies consumed daily by smacking on about 15 to 20 sticks of gum a day.
Besides bowel problems, the women also experienced bloating and gas. After the ladies cut back on the gum chewing, the diarrhea and sudden weight loss stopped.
That negative gum news contradicts the findings of the Wrigley Science Institute (WSI). The WSI is an organization that researches new benefits of chewing gum in an effort to increases sales of Wrigley gums like Extra and Juicy Fruit.
In 2007, a study involving 60 participants, aged 18 to 54, were asked to consume a sweet and salty afternoon snack after chewing a sweetened gum or not chewing gum. Hunger, appetite and cravings were rated immediately after lunch, and then hourly.
Based on the findings of this study, the WSI delineated the following benefits of gum chewing:
* Chewing gum significantly reduced caloric intake by 25 calories and specifically reduced sweet snack intake by 39 calories; salty snacks were decreased by 11 calories.
* Hunger and desire to eat were significantly suppressed by chewing gum at one, two and three hour intervals after lunch.
* Participants reported that chewing gum improved their mood by reducing anxiety and stress, and increasing contentment and relaxation.
* In a similar study among individuals not actively trying to manage their weight, chewing gum reduced snack intake by average of 36 calories.
* Data combined from both studies found that chewing gum reduced intake of the sweet snack in particular by an average of 47 calories.
While the Wrigley's research seems promising, another study published in the journal Appetite unveiled no weight loss benefits related to chewing gum. This study involved 47 volunteers and explored the influence of sweetened chewing gum on appetitive ratings, meal patterning and food intake.
Investigators imposed three test conditions on study participants after they ate lunch at a laboratory: no gum chewing, gum chewing two hours after lunch and gum chewing when hungry. The volunteers completed each treatment (eating lunch then reporting what happned), one day a week for three weeks.
Throughout the remainder of the day, participants self-recorded data about their mood, appetite and food intake. The results revealed that appetite ratings, meal patterning and food intake do not differ among the three treatment conditions.
Apparently, chewing gum can provoke weight loss by either provoking more bowel movements or by distracting you from excessive eating. Just pay attention to the sweetener used in your gum, because artificial sugars have their respective potentially negative side-effects like gas, annoying smacking and uncontrollable bowel movements.

Is Yoga For The Face Really Yoga? by Cynthia Rowland
Contortions, puckers and grimaces are the basis of a new facial movement genre that is being touted as yoga for the face. Not only is this an insult to our common sense, it is easy to imagine that every yogi could be offended by these movements that produce lines and wrinkles.
Over the years snake oil salesmen have hoped their hype would result in a windfall of cash. They tout the latest and greatest cures with potions that no one has tested hoping that you, the hopeful, unsuspecting public, will buy into their spiel that will line their pockets with your hard earned dollars.
A well-respected magazine and a news leader recently reviewed these facial movements. There was no mention of results and there were no credible testimonials to accompany the information. What we did see were photos of facial contortions, puckers and grimaces.
These photos clearly demonstrate how wrinkles are formed. When you repetitively create lines and wrinkles with contortions and the like, it is possible that the face will begin to resemble that look. Think frown lines. If you have them it is because you have repetitively made that grimace over and over again.
The muscles and skin work together to create the look your face portrays; muscles that are strong support the skin…muscles that are lax allow the skin to wrinkle. Strong muscles plus energized skin equals a youthful appearance.
Using resistance with anchoring techniques is the only way to develop stronger facial muscles. Here's why: facial muscles attach to bone only on one end, the other end attaches to skin or another muscle. Without anchoring and resistance the muscles cannot achieve a contraction.
Consider this: open your mouth wide, now close it and open it three times. Sure you might feel a slight stirring in the lower face muscles but add resistance by placing the forefinger and the middle finger lightly on your bottom teeth. Open your mouth. Talking, laughing, yelling at your kids, singing ��" the normal everyday activities will not stop muscles from elongating. It is the elongation of our facial muscles that produce that aged look.
Stopping the muscles from pooling as they head downward into other muscles requires action that is far greater than twists and puckers.

What's so special about walking as an exercise? Frail old people who are barely able to move in nursing homes can walk. Babies walk. You do it in the course of your everyday life. So why a guide for walking fitness?

The answer is that our bodies are designed to walk. It's basic and fundamental. You do not need special equipment to walk. Just go out and do it. Or grab your walking shoes and head out to the mall, where you will probably see other "mall walkers".
Treadmills are also a great way to get your walking exercise done. You can walk while you watch your favorite TV show. Most treadmills have variable speeds and inclines, even built in programs, which tell you how many calories, you are building. A brisk walk on the treadmill can burn 400 or more calories.
Exercises like jogging, tennis, and other exercises are often hard on our joints as we age. Walking is a low impact exercise. That means it does not injure or wear out your knees and other joints as you walk.
Walking to Lose Weight
Walking burns calories. It varies according to your speed and whether you swing your arms or "power walk". However, taking a regular walk each day will burn calories and eventually lead to better fitness and weight loss. Don't forget to drink extra water! So put those walking shoes on and get out there and start walking.
It is a good idea to stretch your muscles before you begin your walk. Proper stretching will help prevent soreness. You also need a warm up. This can be as simple as just starting with a slow pace for a few minutes before you increase the time and intensity of your pace. You also can warm up by walking in place or just moving around a little.
After your walk, cool down slowly by reducing your pace. Then repeat the gentle stretching. It feels so good. It also increases your flexibility and tones your muscles.
No Expensive Equipment Needed!
One thing you want to do is protect yourself.
More precisely, protect your feet.
Proper shoes are important to protect your feet and give you a little extra spring in your step. Walking shoes are also very comfortable. If you walk everyday, good shoes will wear out in a couple months. The wear should be on the bottom of your shoes and not the upper portion of your shoes.
How Far, How Fast?
So how do you know how far you've walked? Get an inexpensive pedometer. A pedometer counts off your steps during your walk. That is especially good when you are slowly increasing your walks daily. You can also keep track of the amount of steps in your daily life. The more you move, the better. You might find yourself parking a block or two away from where you are going to increase the number of steps.
If you're a (former) couch potato who wants to get walking, good for you! Start out slow -- if you can only make it five minutes, that's OK. You can gradually add time and speed until you can walk a mile in 15 minutes. Once you've made it to that goal, try 2 miles in 30 minutes.
Here's another piece of "equipment" that's totally optional. An iPod or MP3 with your favorite up-beat songs also helps you enjoy your exercise and makes the time and miles go by so much faster!

Next time you're at the grocery store pay close attention to how people answer this question. I absolutely despise the people that can not decide, or say they don't know or care. Someone who answers quickly and decisively impresses me. What difference could how they answer matter in any way, you may be asking yourself. Why, it's only a matter of personnel preference. Or is it?
Now the choice between paper and plastic literally does not matter. What matters are, is this a personnel preference, or is this something someone might feel deeply about. Something they're committed to, or have conviction for? Clearly you can tell the difference. Some people have strong feelings one way or the other, and they show it in the way they answer. The person of conviction, knows which they want, has their reasons, acts on it and will do so, the same way, every time faced with this question. Therein lies the difference between preferences and convictions.
Do you PREFER to have a healthy life style? Or is it a conviction? A person who lives life based on what they prefer, never really gets there, if you know what I mean. It's always "I'm dieting, trying to lose weight", "I'd like to be in better shape", "I made a New Years resolution, I hope it works" and so on. They do well for a while, under the right circumstances, when it's new and exciting to make a change. But time passes, circumstances change, and it's not new anymore, it's older, boring. Preferences change. Convictions do not. Preferences are the proverbial "candle in the wind". But a conviction is something to count on, day after day. Everybody PREFERS to be healthy, and PREFERS to look and feel good. Few are committed to, have the conviction for, that life style.

If you peer down to the end of the conveyer and chose whichever one the bag boy is already holding, well, lets just say, I'm glad the question is paper or plastic, verses, should I do what's right or wrong? Easy or hard? Rarely in today's world is the right thing to do the easiest as well. This explains, in part, why we have a nation of overweight health care system abusers.
Having a preference for paper or plastic isn't good enough, because if the bag boy is already bagging with your non-preference you'll probably let him continue. On the other hand, if you had a conviction for paper, then that's what you would demand. And then get. Regardless of the circumstances. So how does this apply to health and fitness? Let's first identify the differences between living based on preference and conviction.
First a person of preference has good intentions. They want things to go well. They sincerely intend to do what they say. They really do mean it. A person of conviction has good results. They do not INTEND for things to go well. They don't stop doing whatever until they have. Intentions verses results.
Secondly a person of preference counts the COST. A person of conviction pays the PRICE.

On the other hand, if you had a conviction for paper, then that's what you would demand. And then get. Regardless of the circumstances. So how does this apply to health and fitness? Let's first identify the differences between living based on preference and conviction.
First a person of preference has good intentions. They want things to go well. They sincerely intend to do what they say. They really do mean it. A person of conviction has good results. They do not INTEND for things to go well. They don't stop doing whatever until they have. Intentions verses results.
Secondly a person of preference counts the COST. A person of conviction pays the PRICE.

I've established already that a life based on preferences is one where the intentions are good, the cost is calculated (not necessarily consciously) and the behavior is then determined. Whereas a life based on conviction is one filled with determination, knows no limits and stays true to the goal. The question is how to move from the former to the latter.
Generally this happens in one of two ways. The first is the realization that you have nowhere to go but up. When something is so bad that it becomes obvious that a change has to be made. When the doctor says if you don't begin living a healthier life style or you die, conviction to something different comes easier. My father smoked his whole life. Toyed with quitting a 1000 times. Always said the nicotine addiction was just too strong. Then he was diagnosed with an incurable lung disease. My father smoked a cigarette walking into the office to hear this news. Keep smoking, die in less than 3 years, quit live up to 7. Never smoked another cigarette. Quit INSTANTLY, and lived 10 more years. Developed a quick conviction for a healthier lifestyle.
I think we would all prefer the second method. Unfortunately, this way is easier on the surface, harder on the inside. There are 3 steps to this method.
Step 1: Determine the single worst contributor to your unhealthy life style and eliminate it. Immediately. NOW. Don't change everything, just the WORST thing. One thing.
Step 2: Remove yourself from the environment that contributes to this worst activity, and replace it by placing yourself into an environment that either discourages the worst activity, and/or encourages your better ones.
Step 3: Have a mentor. This mentor doesn't have to know that they are mentoring, though if they do it's even better. Do as they do, act as they act. Soon you will think as they think.
So a practical example of this would be you want to lose 30 lbs. You don't eat horribly, but you tend to eat too much at a sitting and you eat pizza twice a week. Okay, pick one. Stop eating pizza. Period. No more pizza. You still eat too much but it won't be pizza. Now if instead you eat Big Mac's, I can't help you. An unstated assumption when you are developing a conviction towards something is that you are wanting to improve, be better, do generally accepted good things with your life. So pick something that is HEALTHIER than pizza (doesn't have to be 300 calorie salads, just better than pizza). Obviously, don't go to Pappa John's for dinner. Stay out of places that serve pizza. Why make it harder for yourself? Lastly, and I mean this literally, DON"T hang out with people who want pizza in your presence, and DO hang out with people that hate pizza, in a manner of speaking. Do these three things until not having pizza is second nature. Whether that's a month or six. You'll know when that time comes. When it does? Then you repeat the process, only now you'll have a new worst habit. Keep doing this until you have lost the 30 lbs. By the time this happens, you won't be the person who over eats and lives on pizza anymore.
You'll wonder then how you were ever the person you are now. Exactly the same way you are wondering now how you will ever be that person then.

5 Obnoxious Behaviors You Will See At Gold's Gym by Rusty Moore
Gold's Gym Has Great Equipment, Too Bad About Some of the Members
I'm not picking on Gold's Gym, I belonged to Gold's for 5 years and got some amazing workouts in. The gym owners and the company is a good one, some of the members on the other hand...that is what this article is going to focus on. For some reason, there is a certain type of guy that is drawn to Gold's. They like to call themselves hardcore, I call them obnoxious! I want to call some of these guys out, so we an make the gym a better and safer place for everyone involved.
1) Throwing the Dumbbells to The Ground After Every Set: This is a big problem to me. I can't stand this. Right near the incline press in the Gold's I worked out at there was actually 2 holes in the ground where guys drop them dumbbells. The amount of weight lifted shouldn't matter. I can quietly press 100+ pound dumbbells in the incline press and when finished I can quietly put them back to the ground. These dorks are dropping 60 pounds like they really accomplished something special. Whether lifting heavy or light, there is no excuse for this behavior.
2) Excessive Grunting During Sets: Now, I do realize that if someone is attempting a 700+ single in the squat or deadlift that they probably will make a bit of noise. I'm not talking about those guys. I'm addressing the guy screaming doing a set of 10 reps on preacher curls, or during a set of leg extensions. Seriously, this is just as bad if not worse than dropping dumbbells. Gym manager's need to do a better job monitoring this stuff. This creates a prison like atmosphere in the gym. My favorite thing to do is to sit next to these guys grab a heavier weight and do it for more reps in complete silence and then give them a smirk.
3) Leaving Their Weights All Over The Place: This is really an obnoxious behavior, because it shows blatant disrespect to the people who work in the gym. They believe that people should clean up after them. There is a certain guy in particular, who is really guilty of this. You guess it, the same guys who drop their weights are the same ones who typically leave them there. This is a really common problem in every gym. Let's show the gym faculty some respect and put our own weights away!
4) Performing Sets in Front the Dumbbell Racks: This is not thinking of others who share the same gym. The guys that do this are selfish and couldn't care less about your workout. While they are doing this, you can't access the weights they are in front of and you can't put any dumbbells away. I wish more gym employees would take the steps necessary to stop this poor behavior.
5) Super-setting With 3-4 Pieces of Equipment: This isn't a problem as long as the person who does this allows you to do sets when they are on a different piece of equipment. The problem is when they believe that they should be able to use that equipment uninterrupted for long periods of time. This should be outlawed in the gym! Unless it is during a slow period, the rule should be one piece of equipment at a time.
Summary: There is absolutely nothing wrong with Gold's Gym. I hope that isn't what people take away from this article. I am just hoping that people will stop some of these guys from ruining these great facilities.
